Senior Infants

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is our last week of school and we are taking it easy with the workload again and revising the things we did.

We would love for you to ask your child what some of their favourite memories of Senior Infants are e.g. Aistear, Christmas Play, Lego workshop, P.E, Art etc. It would be so lovely to draw a picture or write some of those memories and send to us by Friday. As always, we would love to see any work you are proud of!

We have loved being your teachers this year and you have done great work. Remember to play outside and inside and have a well-earned break! Keep practicing your writing, sounds and tricky words at home and you will be super readers!

We hope you and your families have a lovely Summer and we wish you all the best in First Class.

Best Wishes

Mrs. Dixon, Ms. Walsh and Ms. Fitzgibbon

·       When you are reading/listening to the stories, we still want you to keep making connections and predictions, but this week we would also like you to focus on Self-Questioning (The children have done this before). Self-Questioning means that you are thinking of questions before, during and after reading to help understand what you are reading. You might say things like
·       I wonder…
·       Do I understand that part of the story?
·       Could I explain it to somebody else?’

·       Handwriting Workbook: Now that you have your book at home, why not try to do 1 or 2 pages a week. Remember your proper pencil grip.

·       Maths Challenge of the Week:
There were 10 balls on the yard altogether. 4 were footballs, the rest were tennis balls. How many were tennis balls?

Use your number line to help or draw a picture.
